Ok, I know, the Bears are not the best team in the NFL... and that just typing that made you laugh, but the Bears, and football still make for a pretty good baby shower.

My sister-in-law is due in just a few weeks, and she is having a boy. My favorite part of throwing a party is finding a fun theme, and I thought I did a pretty good job coming up with this one.

My brother has been organizing a Chicago Bears tailgate for the past 11 years, and this year the baby boy is due right about the time we usually go to the game, and thus I had the "Baby's 1st Tailgate" idea.

It was pretty adorable. My mom painted the yard lines on a large green turf piece, and my dad made the bleachers that the cupcakes sat on.

We cut out pennants and foam fingers out of foam from a craft store, and bought some blue and orange pom pons to decorate the tables. That's pretty much all you need to throw a similar party.

The cupcakes were pretty amazing. I made them off of a recipe I found on Pinterest, and although they did take a few hours, because they are filled with truffles, they were absolutely worth it. The frosting was probably the best chocolate frosting I've ever made.

We also scoured our house for football decorations, and make football sugar cookies, and finally we threw together a onesie clothesline, which doubled as a gift. All you need to do for whatever themed shower you're throwing is buy some clothesline, some clips and the onesies. I decided to print out pictures of the parents-to-be from when they went to the Bears game and put those on the line, too. That ended up being way cuter than I expected.
