It takes majority of billionaires a while to rack up the kind of wealth we all wish was in our bank accounts.  For Chicago's youngest billionaire, it didn't take long at all.

Life is pretty much set up for us to work our entire lives, sell our souls to companies who don't pay us nearly as much as we are actually worth, and retire with a 401K that should last us until we die.  Sometimes, people get lucky in life.  Me? I'm not one of them... yet.

The Youngest Billionaire In Chicago Is 50 Years Old

There's this guy in Chicago, Eric Lefkofsky.  He's not just a 50-something-year-old man working an ordinary day job, he's a self-made billionaire.

His net worth is $4.3 BILLION.  Must be nice!

In his early 20's, Eric Lefkofsky graduated from the University of Michigan and received his Juris Doctor at University of Michigan Law School.

He began his entrepreneurial journey in 1993 - a clothing brand; Brandon Apparel.

Not only did he have his own business, but he bought/sold other businesses for nearly ten years until he ended up living in Chicago and co-founding one of the best deal-finding companies in the world; Groupon.

"Groupon is an American global e-commerce marketplace connecting subscribers with local merchants by offering activities, travel, goods and services in 13 countries."

Groupon was such a success that the Wall Street Journal projected the company to hit $1 billion in sales faster than any other company in history.  That's a major accomplishment!

Sometimes, hard work really does pay off - Eric would know first hand.  Being worth billions would give me so much anxiety, though.  Just give me a few mil and I'll be good.
