It must be hard to play football for the Buffalo Bills.

That's not the real reason Vontae Davis, former University of Illinois football quit the NFL, but you have to think it had something to do with his rash decision.

That's because Davis retired at halftime during while his team, the Buffalo Bills, were getting beat by the Los Angeles Chargers 28-6.

Davis said on Twitter "This isn't how I pictured retiring from the NFL."

His entire retirement statement was shared by the NFL Twitter account and has been retweeted over 7,000 times.

Davis, born and raised in Washington D.C. played football for the University of Illinois from 2006-2008. He was a first-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2009.
