Let's just say his girlfriend wasn't badadadadah lovin' it.

It takes a lot of courage to propose. Just ask my husband who set up a somewhat elaborate proposal by getting my former boss to convince me that a "special guest" was coming in to co-host the polka party. When he gave me the news, I immediately stressed out because I had a feeling it was a listener who had become a little stalkerish and the thought of being in the studio with him for an hour made me nervous; so nervous that I almost didn't go into work that day.

My husband ended up being the special guest and during my show, he proposed live on the air; everyone in small town Iowa heard it. It played out so perfectly, too. Everyone at the station was in on it and there's a video of it somewhere out there on YouTube. I didn't even realize I was being filmed at the time.

Neither did this poor, unsuspecting girl who made a McDonald's run with her boyfriend and she got quite a surprise - and it wasn't a bunch of those delicious fries at the bottom of the bag.

Michael Joseph took his girlfriend, Ann, to McDonald's for a romantic date; they used to go there together before they started dating, so he thought it would be a romantic gesture if he popped the question  with a chicken sandwich...a chicken sandwich.

When McDonald's wanted you to pay it forward with lovin', I'm not sure this is what they had in mind.

Joseph admitted that it was a doofus move, but he wanted to do something that Ann would never expect. Unfortunately, he was turned down and it'll probably be a while before he musters up the courage to propose again.
