At Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis Presley

People are definitely feeling the blues at a bar in West Peoria, Illinois.

According to the establishment's social media, someone walked out with an Elvis bust.

(I plead ignorance on this because up until this theft I had no idea what a bust was.)

Bust: a sculptured representation of the upper part of the human figure including the head and neck and usually part of the shoulders and breast. - Merriam-Webster Dictonary

WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

The owner of Jimmy's Bar received the bust a gift from his niece. The $20 piece of artwork has sat on the watering hole's bar ever since.

A local newspaper reports the owner, Jimmy Spears, thinks someone stole it Saturday because it was in its normal spot during the afternoon and missing the next morning.

'WHO DONE IT?"

Unfortunately, security cameras didn't get a visual of who walked about with the piece. "To walk off with that took some guts", he told Journal Star.

Was it a prank? The owner doesn't think so.

There’s no ransom note.

I guess no ransom note means it wasn't a prank.

SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES/REWARD

I've heard of this stuff happening. Something similar happened at a bar in Byron, Illinois where the item that was stolen was returned without question.

As far as the Elvis bust, regulars at Jimmy's Bar collectively toss in money as a reward, a whopping $13 for whoever returns the item in the same condition it was in when taken.
