Think You Can Handle Illinois’ ‘Most Outrageous Food Challenge?’
Bring your appetite to this place because you're gonna need room.
Matter of fact, bring the biggest pair of pants you own because you're gonna need those two.
This is the definition of a "cheat meal." You know, if you're dieting or watching what you eat, that one time every week or so where you splurge on what you're putting in your body.
Eat This, Not That! essentially covered what amounts to a list of the world's finest cheat meals disguised as The Most Outrageous Food Challenges in Every State.
I was unaware that this food challenge existed until today however, I do know of the restaurant where it's held.
While I haven't been to Fatso's Last Stand they have quite the rep for serving delicious hot dogs, burgers, and sandwiches.
For this food challenge, considered the "Most Outrageous" in Illinois, it's a sandwich, a Po'Boy Sandwich.
Called the Po'Boy Challenge, this meal is an absolute mouthful, according to Eat This, Not That!:
Seafood is the name of the challenge game at Fatso's Last Stand in Chicago, Illinois. The Po'Boy Challenge takes a confident diner who can finish a 2-pound of fried jumbo shrimp hoagie with coleslaw, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, special sauce, cheddar cheese sauce, and a big pile of shoestring fries on the side in under 45 minutes. Winners who get through it all under the time limit receive a T-shirt, their name on a plaque that hangs on Fatso's wall, a free meal, AND a $50 gift card to the nearby Lockdown Bar and Grill.
Fatso's Last Stand is located at 2258 West Chicago Avenue in Chicago.
