My time in quarantine has truly been made better by sweet stories like this.

Tyler Cepkauskas is a little boy from Homer Glen, IL and he was the winner of the Starlight Children’s Foundation “Design a Hospital Gown” contest. His winning gown was actually inspired by his sister Emily who has had three open heart surgeries.

According to his mom, Tyler loves to draw and create things so he immediately jumped in and started drawing. She said the only help he got was asking how to spell some of the words on the gown.

The gown features words like -

Brave

Courage

Hope

Heart

Fighter

Survivor

Strength

Love

According to WAVY -

Tyler said he chose his design so she could remember him “even when I wasn’t there.”

My heart is officially overflowing. Tyler's Mom details -

Tyler had to grow up a lot quicker than most kids. He was 2-and-a-half and had to adapt to being a special needs brother. The first three years of her life was being in and out of the ICU with our longest stretch being four months. So he’s no stranger to the hospital setting.

Look at how adorable this gown is!

The gown will be distributed to hundreds of patients. Starlight Children’s Foundation’s mission is to provide comfortable and colorful clothing to kids in the hospital. I hope Tyler's story inspires you to spread some love and joy today.
