Illinois Mom Calls Son’s Teacher Something We’d All Like Said About Us
If someone uses this word when paying you a compliment, you should know you've done something that brought that person pure bliss.
It is 100% true, doing selfless things for others, will in turn give you a feeling of bliss. Writing a letter to nominate a teacher for some special recognition is one of those kinds of selfless acts.
It wasn't this mom's intent but her letter actually brought me joy, too. It never gets old to be so close to people being kind to each other. There is never a bad time to have a little of our faith restored in humanity.
The compliment I'm loving so much comes at the end of her letter, which is below.
Congratulations to 97ZOK's New Teacher of the Week
Cynthia Myroth from Roscoe Middle School in Roscoe, Illinois

Mrs. Myroth was nominated by Nicole Brickey, she writes,
Mrs. Myroth teaches 7th-grade health and science class for my son, Jackson Brickey. Teaching middle school-aged students, with all of their emotions and “quirks”, requires patience. This is something that Mrs. Myroth has in abundance! I have never heard my son talk so enthusiastically about what he is learning. He wants our undivided attention as he names the bones, muscles, or systems in the body. (many more topics as well) I’ve heard so much about what he is learning that I asked him if he might want to pursue a career in health. His response was, “I don’t think so. I only talk about health class so much because Mrs. Myroth’s lessons are so engaging and she makes learning fun.” He actually said that! A 13-year-old boy!
Last Thursday he came home and informed me that it was her birthday and that he wanted to get her a card and a gift card to Starbucks (her favorite).
Recently she sent home an extra credit assignment where the students were asked to practice cutting raw meat. This was in preparation for an upcoming dissection project. Students could earn extra credit if they also prepared a meal for their families. My son loved planning and preparing a meal for us.
She is a gift to her students and their families.
I can’t thank her enough for all that she does.
As Teacher of the Week, Cynthia was surprised with a cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and money to spend at WM Day Spa.
