A company out of Richmond, Virginia has issued a recall for dog treats do to the possible presence of "foreign metal objects."

The dog treats, sold under the brand name Green Tripe dog treats were sold at retail locations across the nation. Additionally, the products were sold online as well.

There is risk to your dog if they consume these products. The US Food and Drug Administration says that the products could pose a potential "health hazard."

While there have been no reports of injury or illness, they do say that if you believe your dog has consumed the affected dog treats that you should monitor your pet for indications of illness or unusual behavior. Of course, if any of these signs are present, you should contact your veterinarian immediately.

The potential presence of metal objects could pose a health hazard to your dog. If you believe your dog has consumed the affected product, you should monitor for any signs of illness unusual behavior and contact a veterinarian in the event of any concerns. There have been no reports of pet injury or illness regarding the potentially impacted product to date.

They say there are no other products that have been affected and the company is working with both its distributors and retailers nationwide to ensure that the affected products are no longer being sold.
