A popular concert venue in Wisconsin was hit by a robbery, and the two thieves stole thousands of dollars worth of liquor and sound equipment.

I really enjoy going to concerts. When you go to a venue for a show, do you ever pay attention to what is in the building? Even if it's an older theater, there are usually thousands of dollars worth of stuff all around. Think about all that sound equipment and staging. Don't forget all the booze.

Well, a couple of thieves from East Troy decided to take a road trip to Milwaukee and rob the legendary Turner Hall. The suspects busted through an emergency exit and ended up taking off with over $18,000 worth of booze and sound equipment. They must've had a big truck.

The thieves forgot about one very important fact. Even though it's an older venue, the owners still have the building covered with a high-tech security system. The suspects got caught on surveillance cameras, including the license plate of their vehicle. It didn't take long for the cops to track them down.

According to Fox 6 Now Milwaukee...

A man was criminally charged, accused of stealing more than $18,000 in audio equipment and alcohol from Turner Hall in Milwaukee.

 

22-year-old Benjamin Friedl has been charged with one count of felony burglary.

 

Video surveillance played a big role in the investigation, and MPD stresses the importance of the "Community Connect Milwaukee" initiative.
