Some Milk in Illinois, Wisconsin Will Turn Blue in Next 10 Days
When I used to visit Grandma Adler's house in Evansville, Indiana during the summertime, there was one place in her kitchen cabinet that I would always check after getting there.
Did You Grow Up with Chocolate Quik, Ovaltine, or Carob?
I was about 8 or 9 years old when we were living in Terre Haute, Indiana and my mom worked part-time at a health foods store during her summer break from teaching grade school.
She would never have Chocolate Quik in the house because of all the sugar, and even getting Ovaltine was a rare treat. When I asked for "chocolate milk" she would make it with something called Carob that was sold at the health foods store, and let me tell you it tasted more like cardboard than chocolate.

But when I visited my Grandma Adler, I always knew which kitchen cabinet she kept the Chocolate Quik and even better the Strawberry Quik. I can taste the sweet strawberry goodness of that pink milk in my mind just thinking about it.
Why Is Milk in Illinois and Wisconsin Turning Blue Beginning in May?
As we get closer to May 4, you may start to see blue milk showing up in your grocery store.
That's because May the Fourth is Star Wars Day and Kemps Dairy will celebrate by offering Blue Milk that will have Star Wars characters on different milk cartons.
Star Wars Blue Milk will have a sweet, vanilla flavor and will only be available for a limited time.
Walmart is selling half-gallons of blue Star Wars milk for $2.78.
