Breast cancer affects more than 252,000 women every year. Swedish American, a division of UW Health, is hosting a free breast cancer program to help raise awareness about the disease in the community. The program is entitled Planting the Seeds of Hope and will be held on Monday October 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at Giovanni's restaurant in Rockford. Everyone is welcome. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for registration.
The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will feature Kelly Epperson, writer, speaking and mentor delivering Laughter: The (Almost) Best Medicine. An expert panel comprised of an OB/GYN, Oncologist, Radiation Oncologist, Radiologist, Surgeon and Genetic Counselor will discuss the latest innovations in breast healthcare and answer questions from the audience.
