Options for taking the kids out to look at cool holiday light displays is growing everyday. The latest features a giant 40-foot steel reindeer.

One of the things that really helped the holiday season feel a little like normal, were all the places you could take your family to see beautiful and elaborate light displays.

In Rockford, The Festival of Lights at Sinnissippi Park and All-Aglow at Nicholas Conservatory were visited more than once by my family. This year, there a new new light display at the world famous Anderson Japanese Gardens, called Lightscape.

Heading toward Chicago is no different, there are tons of choices for jaw-dropping light displays. The city of Naperville is one of the newest and most unique displays in Illinois

Reindeer Road Drive-Thru Christmas Light Display and Event

Here's the important stuff you need to know:

The first vehicle will be admitted at 6:30 p.m., last vehicle will be admitted at 9:30 p.m.

Admission is only $10 per carload, not per person, so carpooling with family and friends is encouraged.

The drive-thru experience takes about 5 minutes, but allow extra time for traffic, especially on weekends.

The attraction is generally open Wednesdays through Sundays in December. Weather permitting.

• Wednesday, December 1, 2021 through Sunday, December 5, 2021
• Wednesday, December 8, 2021 through Sunday, December 12, 2021
• Wednesday, December 15, 2021 through Sunday, December 19, 2021
• Christmas Week: Monday, December 20, 2021 through Thursday, December 23, 2021
• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day:  Hours TBD
