More Rockford Businesses Stepping Up To Honor Fallen Officer
Blue lights are becoming hard to find in Rockford and for a good reason, too. Rockford and the surrounding communities are uniting to honor fallen Rockford Police Officer Jaimie Cox. Hopefully, this article will help you find the materials you're looking for to show support.
First, we learned The Home Depot is selling blue light bulbs at a discount price. The shelves quickly emptied in that store and many other stores around the area, including Walmart, Target, and Menards. The Lowe's in Rockford just informed Q98.5 they have 300 blue lights as of opening time, they will likely go quickly.
Another excellent option would be Nicholson Hardware in Rockford. They're selling blue lights for $1 and 100% of the proceeds will go to the official Jaimie Cox Memorial Fund through Alpine Bank.
UPDATE: Nicholson Hardware is sold out of blue light bulbs as of 9:30 Wednesday morning. They expected another shipment within the next few days. Watch their Facebook page for updates.
If you're unable to snag a light bulb or would rather show your support in another manner you could grab a blue lapel ribbon or blue ribbon for your tree at Cherry Blossom Florist in Rockford.
Kate at B•Alms Salon & Spa in Loves Park is offering free massages to Rockford Police Officers coping with the loss of Officer Jaimie Cox.
