In Illinois, winters are brutal, and mail carriers continue to work tirelessly to ensure our letters, packages, and mail arrive on time.  Whether they’re delivering your mail to work or your front door, our mail carriers play an important role in our daily lives!  Their job can be dangerous at times, too.

So, how can you thank them for all they do?  I have a few ideas!

  1. Leave a Thank You Note: Doesn't have to be expensive, even a heartfelt letter showing your gratitude is enough!
  2. A Treat: Put a few snacks and bottles of water on your porch for your mail carrier to grab as they continue their route.  Fuel their day!
  3. Give a gift: We see our mail carriers more than our own family some weeks.  Get them a gift card to a restaurant, a gas card, or a thoughtful gift if you're close with them.

If you want to be extra generous, clean off your mailbox, salt your driveway, and shovel a path to your mailbox in the winter to help keep our unsung heroes safe!

This February 4th for National Thank A Mail Carrier Day, find a way to acknowledge your mail carriers.  In Illinois, they endure so many seasons and power through tough weather conditions just to deliver our mail.

Let's remind them how much their service is appreciated!
