If you got engaged over the holidays, first of all - congratulations, and secondly, now it's time to start planning the big day. From the venue to the reception hall, flowers, cake and dress, there's just so much to do and so little time. So where do you even begin? What should you find or do first? For many, the first order of business is determining where to have the wedding.

Why not have it right here in Rockford? Onlyinyourstate.com has just released a top ten list of places to get married in Illinois and with it's "11,000 square feet of indoor tropical flora and sculpture. Plus, there is a landscaped lagoon with fountains & patios" the Nicholas Conservatory ranked 9th on the list.

I had a chance to finally visit Nicholas Conservatory over the holidays and it definitely lives up to the hype and while it's very beautiful, it might not be the venue for you. Here are the other "epic spots", according to onlyinyourstate.com,  to get married in Illinois:

Chicago Botanic Garden
The Mora Farm
Starved Rock State Park
Illinois Beach Resort
Pine Manor Estate
The Crystal Gardens
Buena Vista Farms, Inc.
Field Museum
Ravina on the Lakes

Do you or someone you know get married at the Nicholas Conservatory? I'd love to see the photos.
