In case you're late to the party, let me fill you in. Not all ice is the same. There are cubes far superior to others. However, there is one type of ice that reigns supreme ... ice nuggets. And they serve them up hot and fresh at Sonic.

The obsession isn't just finishing the ice after your drink is done ... it goes WAY deeper than that. The internet has discovered that asking Sonic for cups of just ice isn't enough, they want MORE ice. So now sonic is offering full size bags available for sale.

Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic told GQ that the chain has heard of major ice fans figuring out what ice maker Sonic uses, and buying it to keep at home. At a recent menu preview, a Sonic franchise owner revealed that he had to limit giving away cups of just ice to two cups per person, because some people request six or more! Many drive-in locations actually sell ice by the bag, depending on local health-department regulations, according to Sonic.
It's not confirmed that all Sonic locations are selling the bags of ice so be sure to call and check ahead! There are multiple locations around Rockford.
