Local fast food workers will be apart of a pair of rallies in the area on Thursday as they will join 150 cities across the nation to demand higher pay.

Employee's at McDonald's on Auburn Street will strike on Thursday morning at 8:15.  A second rally will take place at 11am at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 4848 Turner Street.

Peoria is the only other Illinois city confirmed to have strikes.

The Fight for $15 is a movement started in New York City two years ago when fast-food workers walked out on their jobs demanding higher wages.
