
Trick-or-Treat Triple Feature: Rockford’s Halloween Fun Happens This Saturday
Rockford’s got a full day of family-friendly frights lined up this Saturday, October 25, and whether your kids want candy, crafts, or just a reason to wear their costumes again, there’s no shortage of Halloween magic in town.
From downtown to the Gardens, here’s your lineup for one spooktacular Saturday.
Spook the Blocks in Downtown Rockford

From 12–4 p.m., downtown Rockford turns into a trick-or-treat paradise thanks to the River District Association. Families can explore local favorites like Rockford Art Deli, BMO Center, and Maze Books while collecting candy, painting pumpkins, and meeting princesses and mascots. Expect games, crafts, glitter tattoos, and lots of community spirit. It’s free, festive, and the perfect way to kick off Halloween weekend downtown. More details here.
All Hallows’ Eve at Midway Village
Take your little ghouls to Midway Village Museum from 12–6 p.m. for an afternoon surrounded by Rockford history with a spooky twist. Kids can trick-or-treat through over 20 historic Victorian buildings, hop on wagon rides, or enjoy story time with the Rockford Public Library. Spooktacular at Anderson Japanese Gardens
From 1–4 p.m., Anderson Japanese Gardens teams up with Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehab & Education Center for a beautifully eerie afternoon of trick-or-treating among the gardens, photo ops in the spooky graveyard, and hands-on learning with wildlife educators.
