Rockford Students Can Help Design Mayor McNamara’s Holiday Card
Rockford school students have the opportunity to put their artistic skills to good use and win prizes.
Rockford Mayor, Tom McNamara, wants to give every student a chance to be featured on his holiday cards. The mayor's cards are sent annually to many businesses and organizations who help move Rockford forward.
Elementary and middle school students can submit designs to be featured on Mayor McNamara's card. Here are the guidelines young artists need to follow, to be considered.
- Design should be secular or appropriate for all religions and should help capture the feeling of the holiday spirit in Rockford
- Artwork must be original and no larger than 8.5 x 11.
- Design should be created with crayon, water colors, paints, pencil, ink, markers, or colored pencil, so that the winning art can be easily reproduced.
Besides being featured on the mayor's card, the winner will also get 10 copies of the specially made card. In addition, the winner will get some recognition at a city council meeting and 2-$25 gift cards from Beef-A-Roo and Rockford Art Deli.
Designs must be submitted by November 12 and can be submitted in person, or you can mail them to:
