If you frequently travel through the intersection of Sandy Hollow Road and 9th Street in Rockford, beware. Starting today, (June 6), the City of Rockford will be shutting off the stop lights, and traffic could get a little congested.

According to WREX;

The city says all signals at the intersection of Sandy Hollow Road and 9th Street will be turned off starting Thursday.

Signs will also be put up before the intersection warning drivers about the traffic study. The city asks that drivers use caution and stop for pedestrians.

The study will last 60 days. The city will determine if the lights should be removed permanently.
