Illinois residents may soon have to pay a fee to see this beautiful waterfall under legislation that passed an Illinois Senate committee last week.

Starved Rock State park may soon start charging visitors a $5.00 daily parking fee in 2020. According to a report in the Daily Herald, Illinois Senate Bill 1310 was introduced by Morris IL State Sen. Sue Rezin. The proceeds from the parking fee would be directed toward infrastructure and safety purposes.

Rezin says the bill is now headed toward the full Illinois Senate.

Many Rockford residents are concerned the same parking fees will soon come to Rock Cut State Park and all other state parks around the state.
