Andrist was nominated by her daughter, Lauren, who said:

I would like to nominate Erin Andrist to be the teacher of the week. Erin is an amazing first-grade teacher, she always makes every one of her students feel special. What I mean by this is that she takes the time to talk to each one and make them feel like they belong...Erin Andrist is a remarkable teacher, a kind friend, and a great mother, as her daughter I would like to nominate Erin Andrist to be the teacher of the week.
