The ‘Best Movie Set In Illinois’ Was Announced And We’re Puzzled
Sure, it's a good movie, but it's not really in the conversation when it comes to the best movie set in Illinois.
However, Thrillist really believes in their choice for "Best Movie Set" in Illinois according to their new list.
They choose The Fugitive as the best movie taking place in Illinois. We're sure you remember the 1993 blockbuster hit starring Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Kimble.
It was a good flick, and Rotten Tomatoes agrees giving it a 96% freshness score, but is it the best in Illinois?
How about the first two Christopher Nolan Batman movies, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight as two of the best set in Illinois? Bot movies were set in Gotham City but everyone knows it was filmed in Chicago. So how about The Blues Brothers, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, or for that matter anything made by John Hughes in '80s is a better choice.
You also can't dismiss Groundhog Day. A small part of the movie was shot in Rockford, so that's got our vote.
On the other hand, Bridesmaids from 2011 was named the "Best Movie Set" in Wisconsin according to the list.
Is it just us, or did we have no idea Bridesmaids was set in Wisconsin?
