When you sit down at a bar, what's your order?

Sure you have your favorites you make at home. But most of the time when you're around the house you just grab whatever canned or bottled beverage is readily available. However, when you're out at a bar, you usually order your favorite cocktail!

A new study revealed each state's favorite cocktail and I can't lie, I'm kind of disappointed in Illinois' favorite. For starters, it doesn't feel very "Illinois-y". I honestly was expecting it to be something that had Malört in it.

So what's Illinois' favorite cocktail?

A Manhattan!

Which if you didn't know is a cocktail made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. While rye is the traditional whiskey of choice, other commonly used whiskies include Canadian whisky, bourbon, blended whiskey, and Tennessee whiskey

Is this your go-to at the bar?

Wisconsin's favorite cocktail is WAY more fun. It's also so Wisconsin.

A grasshopper!

Never had one before? A Grasshopper is a sweet, mint-flavored, after-dinner drink. The name of the drink derives from its green color, which comes from crème de menthe. This is most likely Wisconsin's favorite because of it's popularity in supper clubs.

Maybe the bright green drink isn't your style, but I still think it's way more fun than your basic Manhattan. Personally, I'm headed to South Carolina where they're drinking tequila sunrises. Or Pennsylvania where they're sipping on some whiskey sours. Those are my two go-to cocktails when I'm out.

Cheers!

The resulting timeline shows that women are constantly making history worthy of best-selling biographies and classroom textbooks; someone just needs to write about them.

Scroll through to find out when women in the U.S. and around the world won rights, the names of women who shattered the glass ceiling, and which country's women banded together to end a civil war.
