The recall was issued by Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc. and announced by the Unites States Department of Agriculture.  According to officials, the issue was discovered after a handful of customers complained about glass in the frozen meals.  Luckily, no injuries were reported.

The recalled product is Trader Joe's Chicken Fried Rice, sold in 20-ounce plastic bags.  The meal contains fried rice, vegetable, chicken meat, and eggs.  And for some people... glass.  Here's what you should look out for if you've bought this product:

  • Best-by dates from September 8th through November 17th, 2026
  • Establishment number P-18356 printed inside the USDA ark of inspection

If you have the bag that matches those details, do not eat it.  Consumers are urged to either throw the product away or return it to their local Trader Joe's store for a refund.  Even though nobody has been injured, foreign object recalls are taken seriously because of the potential for injury.  And let's be honest, the thought of biting into glass is enough to make anyone pause.
