Two Rockford Area Residents Advance on ‘Idol’

Two local contestants on "American Idol" have advanced. Will they make it to the top 24?

While we didn't catch them on TV, Gina Venier from Dixon and Abby Alton from Roscoe both managed to advance past the group stage during last night's American Idol episode.

Venier tells SaukValley.com about her experience with her four-person group, "We had one night to prepare. Nobody slept and we practiced through the night,”

“The experience was intense. It was stressful just finding teammates.”

The experience is going to intensify even more tonight. Since Alton and Venier have advanced, they are both perform solo in front of the judges.
