Very Rare Blue Lobster Arrives at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium
The odds of one these blue lobsters being caught are pretty slim. The odds of seeing it in person are now really good.
The blue lobster is a genetic mutation with only a 1 in 2,000,000 chance of happening, according to wgntv.com. One week ago, a fisherman named Wayne Nickerson caught the rarity off the coast of Massachusetts, and now it's at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
The yet to be named blue lobster is in a reserve enclosure while a large saltwater habitat is closed for renovation. For now he is part of the behind-the-scenes tour at the Shedd. To read more of his fascinating story, click HERE.
WGN's Marcus Leshock paid the Shedd Aquarium a visit to see the blue lobster up close. You can see that video here.
