Illinois Animal Shelter Needs Help To ‘Empty The Shelter’ This Week
Animal shelters are often at max capacity, struggling to keep up with the influx of animals in need of a loving home. As for one Illinois shelter, they're extending their 'Empty the Shelter' event in hopes to find more furever homes!
Many beautiful pets are in desperate need of homes, and unfortunately, shelters don’t have endless room to house them all. Despite the best efforts, the high volume of animals can quickly exceed the capacity of the facility, making it challenging for shelters to provide the care and attention for every pet.
That’s where initiatives like The Bissell Empty the Shelter Holiday Hope Event come in to help. Winnebago County Animal Services (WCAS) is extending this event, offering reduced adoption fees to encourage more families to adopt!
You can adopt:
- a dog for $50
- a kitten for $40
- an adult cat for $20
Yes, these adoptions include a wellness exam, spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations, flea and tick preventative, and more – everything needed to get your new pet off to a healthy start.
Remember, the adoption fees might sound awesome, but this is a lifelong commitment to giving a pet the best life they deserve. Don't adopt on impulse, adopt with the intention to love and care for an animal for many, many years.
There are so many precious furbabies waiting to find their furever homes, and you could be the one to make their dreams come true this holiday season! Visit the WCAS website to see all available animals and start the adoption process.
