You know what I've never understood, why my 5 blade razors cost more than men's do and they do they same thing. Or why do men get their own Colgate toothpaste? Do they have different teeth than us? I even buy men's plain white t-shirts sometimes because they're cheaper. Why is that?

It's this little known thing called the "pink tax", the idea that "female" versions of products and services both men and women use are more expensive; and depending on who you ask, there are some pretty lame excuses as to why women are paying more for their razors, perfume and dry cleaning services.

Not anymore, well, at least on our feminine hygiene products. According to WIFR, Illinois house members have approved a plan that would make tampons, pads and other fun stuff more affordable by exempting them from the state sales tax.

It may not seem like much but sales tax in the state of Illinois is 6.25% and can get as high as 10.25% in Chicago. That adds up to thousands of dollars over the course of your lifetime; thousands of dollars that you can spend on other things like new clothes for when you ruin yours during a really bad cycle or heck, you could actually be on a sandy beach playing volleyball like those girls in the commercials for sports tampons. You want to know why they look so happy and carefree? It's because their tampons were tax free and they took all the money they saved and paid for the airline ticket that got them to that beach in the first place.

The plan to eliminate the sales tax goes to Governor Bruce Rauner next.
