1. Do not get married before the age of 25. I was married at 26. (1 out of 1)

2. Do not have children in the first year of your marriage.  We had our first child 2 years after marriage. (2 out of 2)

3. Have an income-producing job with stability before you get married. We were both gainfully employed before taking the plunge. (3 out of 3)

4. Couples that consider themselves religious/ spiritual are less likely to get divorced. Um, so...(3.5 out of 4)

5. College educated couples have a lower chance of divorcing than those with only a high school diploma. One of us graduated from college, I would check the "some college" box. (4 out of 5)

6. Make sure the one you love is your best friend. I do as much as I can with my wife. Except for attend sporting events. She doesn't like to watch sports. (5 out of 6)
