If you have a pet, you know how difficult it can be to leave them behind; especially if it's the first time your furry friend has been away from you for more than an 8 hour work day.

When that moment comes, the one where you have to leave them with a pet sitter or drop them off at the boarding facility, it's almost has anxiety inducing as the first time you dropped off your newborn at daycare. Questions swirl your mind like, "did I forget anything," "will they miss me," "do they know I am leaving them behind?" It's almost too much.

But what if there was a fun and unique way to reduce the separation anxiety? Take Ken and Katie Rorheim for example. This couple from Loves Park are heading to Milwaukee for Ken's back surgery and it's the first time they'll be away from their cat, Wilbert; they don't live too far from the boarding facility where Wilbert will be put up in a penthouse near a window where he can watch the birds, so they decided to give him his very own parade.

WIFR shared their story that will surely make you smile.

Here's to a speedy recovery for Mr. Rorheim and if they have another parade for Wilbert, perhaps on his way back home, how do we get invited?
