Aldi Recalls Bagged Salads Over Contamination Concerns
As if 2020 wasn't bad enough already, the problem with contaminated lettuce has entered back into our lives.
Here we are trying to avoid/work off the 10 plus pounds we packed on during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now fate is messing with our healthy eating too.
If you've got a fridge full of pre-packaged bags of Aldi's Little Salad Bar Garden Salad, you should probably go ahead and toss them out today.
The FDA and the CDC are investigating a multi-state outbreak of Cyclospora infections potential linked to garden salads sold at ALDI and Jewel-Osco.
They are recommending that consumers should not eat, and restaurants and retailers should not sell or serve all ALDI “Little Salad Bar Brand Garden Salad sold in Illinois.
I have scoured the FDA's website to see if specific "good-by" dates are listed as a part of this Garden Salad recall, and have not found anything. So, I guess if you have any bags Aldi's Garden Salad at home just assume they are not safe to eat and make sure to contact the store to determine how to get a product refund.
