Body Cams For RPD Coming Soon?

The City of Rockford Government has formally issued a statement, requesting "body cameras" for Rockford Police Department officers. WIFR

Proposals for this are due by October 30th and the city council will vote on this by the end of November. One of the main objectives to increase transparency between the city and the Rockford Police Officers.

Rules and procedures for body cams need to be ironed out by those involved, but hopefully everyone can work this out and things can move forward in November.
