That awkward moment when a car defeats a would-be robber.

That's what happened to this hapless thief in Ireland recently.

First he tried to bust the driver side window with a brick only to see it drop to the ground.

His second try had him go to the passenger side and throw the brick again.

Instead of the brick dropping harmlessly to the ground, it bounced off the window and smacked him right in the face.

Gerry Brady, owner of the Pheasant Pub in Drogheda, Ireland tells Independent IE:

“When I saw him, he was lying there stone cold on the ground and his face was in ribbons. My first thought was that ‘this guy is after getting the **** knocked out of him’, while my girlfriend said it must have been a hit and run.”.

Brady's girlfriend is half right, the robber tried to hit the car, and the car hit back. Judging from the impact of that brick to his face, he was in no shape to run anywhere.
