Who says New Year’s Eve is only for grown-ups? Carlson Ice Arena in Loves Park (4150 N Perryville Rd) has the perfect way for Rockford families to celebrate together without the hassle of staying up until midnight. On Tuesday, December 31, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., you can skate, play, and party your way into 2024 at their special Noon Year’s Eve event!

The highlight? A countdown and balloon drop at noon, so the kids can experience the thrill of ringing in the new year without sacrificing bedtime. With a DJ spinning tunes, party favors galore, and delicious food specials, it’s a party that screams “family fun” (and doesn’t require any screaming from overtired kiddos).

For just $12 per person, the Skate and Play Special gives you access to the public ice skating session, skate rentals, and Sapora Playworld—a soft-play haven for kids 12 and under. Prefer to stick to the rink? Admission for skating alone is $10, including rentals.

This is the perfect way to get everyone out of the house, burn off some energy, and start the new year on an active note. Plus, it’s all wrapped up by 2 p.m., leaving plenty of time to relax (or collapse) afterward.

Mark your calendar and bring the whole crew—it’s a New Year’s celebration Rockford families won’t want to miss!
