The Stateline area is getting a new spot along West Lane Road for steakburgers and frozen custard. Construction begins in about a week.

The retail and restaurant corridor that stretches along West Lane Road (also known as Highway 173) is growing again. Just over a month ago, construction began in the empty lot where Alpine Road meets West Lane Road, for the second Chick-fil-A in the area. Get ready for a new spot to feed your family just across Alpine Road in front of Lowe's.

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

With over 400 locations around the U.S., this Kansas-based chain will be opening their first location in the Stateline.

Freddy's gets it name from the owners father, Freddy Simon, who is a Purple Heart, World War II veteran.

Now that my stomach is leading this conversation, let's take a look at the food coming soon to Machesney Park.

Freddy's is not your traditional hamburger restaurant. Often voted best burger in cities across the country, Freddy's uses premium quality lean beef in its steakburgers that are cooked-to-order, according to their Facebook page. Thanks to a time-tested churning process that minimizes ice crystals and air, Freddy's Frozen Custard is smoother and richer than ice cream and frozen yogurt.

Look how juicy these steakburgers are!

"Hello my salty little friends, can't wait to eat you!"

I've never been to a Freddy's before, so I thought I'd take a quick peek at some Yelp reviews.

Lisa S. from Glen Ellyn, IL says,

"first time at Freddy's today. the fries are incredible, and so was the burger. huge and crunchy around the edges. loved my lunch! will be back!"

Jay from Orland Park, IL says,

"We got a couple of double cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings. The burgers were freshly made, popping' hot and juicy. The patties are flat so the double is the only way to fly. Those crispy edges give the burger a great taste. The onion rings are the best in the Western suburbs. Period. The fries were good. The buns are soft and fresh. I would get all of this again."

You can even grab a cup for your pup. We'll see you soon Freddy's. Check them out on Facebook.
