You weren't the only one who felt all kinds of blah yesterday. Blame the calendar.

I woke up yesterday in a terrible mood. I didn't want to talk to anyone, me, the queen of conversation just didn't want to speak. That feeling lasted the entire day and while I know some of the things that are bothering me, I couldn't figure out what exactly was going on.

Then, I saw it on Facebook. Blue Monday.

That's right! Blue Monday is a thing and it was yesterday.

According to Wikipedia, Blue Monday is defined as the, "name given to a day in January (typically the third Monday of the month) reported to be the most depressing day of the year. The concept was first publicised as part of a 2005 press release from holiday company Sky Travel which claimed to have calculated the date using an equation."

Scientists think it's bogus, but I totally get it.

By the time we get to the third Monday in January we realize our paychecks aren't going to pay our holiday bills, our jeans are still too tight and now our tastebuds are used to eating an extra 900 calories a day. On top of that it is generally freezing, and for those of us in the Midwest, well below freezing and we literally can't warm our bones.

So if you felt like garbage yesterday, blame it on Blue Monday and let's all hope there's no such thing as Blue Tuesday.
