Facebook's autoplay video setting could be to blame for your more expensive cell phone bill.

The Facebook app has undergone a lot of changes over the last year. From making it more difficult to find your "most recent" news feed, to requiring you to download the Facebook Messenger App.

Well, there's something else Facebook has been doing to your phone. Eating up your data with the autoplay video option.

When you're looking at Facebook on your phone and you stop the feed on a video, the video automatically plays (i.e. autoplay).

This feature uses up a bunch of data in order to play those videos. Using up data can cost you extra money each month, and you probably didn't even care to watch most of them.

Luckily, there is a simple solution. Just turn the option off.

On an iPhone, all you need to go is go to "Settings," scroll down to "Facebook" and then go to "Settings" again. You then will see "autoplay" and you can choose: "on," "wi-fi only," or "off."

If you have an Android phone, within the "Facebook App," go to "App Settings," then choose "Auto-Play Only on Wi-Fi" or "Off."
