Fireworks Recalled Due to Explosion Hazard
Here's something you probably didn't know about me- I have a fear of fireworks. Not watching them from the comfort of a blanket on a grassy hillside, but setting them off myself. I won't even come near a sparkler in fear that I'll suffer from second degree burns.
What can I say? I lived a very sheltered life. That, or my parents just kept fireworks away from me because I was afraid of our hometown's annual Fourth of July fireworks display until I was at least 8.
It's laughable, I know; but at least I can say I still have all of my fingers.
Fireworks are no laughing matter and it's important that they're handled with care; which is why you might want to avoid ones that could potentially explode.
According to WIFR, the Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling TNT Red, White, & Blue Smoke fireworks. They're supposed to smoke when they're lit, but they could explode after they've been lit; causing burns and other bodily harm. Ouch.
Currently, the fireworks are sold at both Target and Wal-Mart stores in Illinois.
