General Mills Flour Recalls Multiple Products

In a world where homemade cookies are the most delicious thing on the planet, this is a huge problem.

However, if you are baking those cookies properly, cooking them as long as the recipe calls for before eating, you should be ok.

It's better to be safe than sorry though.

General Mills has released a recall of many of their flour products because of E.coli illnesses. As mentioned above, baked goods that are baked properly should not result in illness, but the recall is still in effect.

I knew you could get sick from eating raw dough because of the raw egg, but I didn't realize raw flour could be an issue.

According to General Mills,

Do not eat uncooked dough or batter made with raw flour. Flour is made from wheat that is grown outdoors where bacteria are often present. Flour is typically not treated to kill bacteria during the normal milling process."
