Open Letter to Goodwill Donation Lady

Dear Angry Lady at Goodwill,

Was there a reason you were so mad a few days ago? Did you miss the sign that said "stay in your car" and "one at a time" while dropping off items at the drive-thru Goodwill location off Perryville?

Did you think I, the person in front of you who was handing the Goodwill employee my donations, would not see what you did? Did you think that it was OK?

Did you really think the Goodwill employee enjoys "customers" like you? If there were a photo of a "Karen" in the dictionary, it would be of you.

How and why did you think that you could, after being told by the kind and courteous Goodwill employee to go back to your car and wait for them to wrap up their time with me, it would be OK just to drop your donation onto the ground and drive away?

Not just "put" on the ground. Your arm was outstretched, and you released the bag on the ground as if it were no longer your problem. How could you look at the stunned Goodwill employee and me, probably with as quizzical a look as I'll ever have, with as much anger and disdain in your eyes because you couldn't be bothered to wait just a few seconds?

You did it anyway, even after being warned that Goodwill doesn't allow dumping. Worst of all, you said, "You didn't care," and drove away, reversing out of the lane and speeding off.

All while this was happening, we were less than a week away from Thanksgiving.

I'm not giving you the benefit of the doubt. I'm not chalking it up to you having a bad day. That's the type of behavior where if my kids witnessed your behavior, I would point you out and say, "Don't be like her; she's no good."

Since they weren't there, I will just call you out and publicly shame you. Do better.
