Hilarious Internet Fundraiser For Rockford Family Peace Center

Rockford musicians Miles Nielsen and Kelly Steward are busting out their alter-egos Uncle Gray and Aunt Dottie for a special internet fundraiser to assist Rockford's Family Peace Center.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a story about Rockford musicians Miles Nielsen and Kelly Steward along with their alter-egos, Uncle Gary and Aunt Dottie. Check it out, HERE.

Now, they're using these crazy antics to help out a great cause. It's an internet fundraiser for the Rockford Family Peace. It's a very important facility for our city. Here's what they do according to the website.

"The Family Justice Center model has been identified as a best practice in the field of domestic violence intervention and prevention services by the United States Department of Justice. Family Justice Centers are multi-agency, multidisciplinary co-located service centers that provide services to victims of interpersonal violence including, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder or dependent adult abuse, and human trafficking. Both public and private partner agencies assign staff on a full-time or part-time basis to provide services from one location. Centers focus on reducing the number of times victims tell their story, the number of places victims must go for help, and look to increase access to services and support for victims and their children."

This is how the benefit works. Currently, there's a GoFundMe page up and running where you can make a donation. HERE. The goal is $2,500. When they reach that amount, that's when the fun really begins.

Miles and Kelly agreed that on this week's episode of Uncle Gary and Aunt Dottie show on Saturday night shown right, HERE, they would reverse roles. Miles will be Dottie and Kelly becomes Gary. I'm talking the whole deal including wigs, make-up, clothes, and whatever else needed to get into full character.
