I'm sure you're familiar with the saying, "if something's too good to be true, it probably is;" you know, like calorie free pizza or that magic pill that will make you lose 30 pounds without exercise. Definitely too good to be true.

So is this Walmart check scam. According to 41 Action News, thousands of people have received a "check" as part of what could be a new holiday shopping scam.   Recipients of the check will get a letter notifying them that they've been selected to be part of Walmart's "Quality Control" program along with a check that looks pretty legit; but once you deposit that check, scammers have the ability to drain your entire bank account.

Honestly, though, would you look at that check; their scam game is strong.

Some things to look out for, should you receive a similar check, is the postage stamp and the bank where the check came from. For instance, a woman in North Carolina mentioned that the postage on her check was from Spain and the bank was Wachovia, which is no longer in business.
