One of the newest roller coasters at Six Flags Great America has been named one of the best in the world.

Taking riders down 180 feet at a near vertical 85 degrees and reaching speeds of up to 72 miles per hour has landed Goliath on a short list of the most amazing roller coasters.

To celebrate National Roller Coaster Day on August 16th, Orbitz rounded up the top seven coasters with "high stake thrills" to make up the "seven roller coaster wonders of the world."

Goliath established it's world class status by breaking three Guinness World Records for speed, longest and fastest wooden roller coaster.

It's hard to believe that I've lived in Wisconsin for almost three years now; live 40 minutes from Six Flags and I've never been there. Riding Goliath is definitely on my bucket list now.

Last year, when the ride opened, we sent weekend DJ Johnny Vaughn to give it a try.
