There's nothing more special than a teacher being your biggest supporter inside and outside of the classroom.

That's exactly the case for our brand new Teacher of The Week. Being a teacher is a ton of hard work and commitment. So whenever we see teachers who go above and beyond outside of the classroom as well, we can tell just how much they love what they do.

Congratulations to our new Teacher of The Week Mr. Gunderson from Froberg Elementary School in Rockford!

Mr. Gunderson was nominated by one of his students and the nomination letter reads -

Mr. Gunderson isn’t just an amazing teacher, he is a leader, and encourager, a supporter, and his students #1 fan! He will go above and beyond for his students, whether it be taking extra time out during his lunch hour to give them extra help, or even show up to baseball games to cheer them on in his free time. He is always a listening ear, and kids love and trust him full heartily! Thanks for being the wonderful person you are, Mr. Gunderson!

How incredible is that? We were able to chat with Mr. Gunderson on the phone to tell him the great news and he was so appreciative.

We celebrated Mr. Gunderson by dropping off a giant bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and a beautiful floral arrangement from Broadway Florist.

Do you have a teacher in your life you'd like to nominate? You can tell us all about them and nominate them to be our Teacher of The Week right here.
