Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is Great For Foodies
The team at Betway Insider released its list of the top 20 best airports for foodies in the world. To create this list, The team at Betway listed 48 of the busiest airports in the world (excluding airports in China*) by annual passenger numbers,
Betway then researched how many restaurants there are in each airport, how many cuisines, the average Google review score for each of the restaurants, and the number of Instagram tags at each airport. These factors were then given a weighting from 0–100, allowing the data to be ranked.
They found that O'Hare International Airport is the 4th best airport in the world for foodies. It has 74 restaurants with an average 3.3 rating on Google reviews. O'Hare has 32 cuisines with 1.3 million Instagram tags and 0.074 restaurants per 1,000 guests.
What's A Foodie & Why Do They Matter?
If you've ever posted a photo of food on social media, primarily Instagram, you're a foodie. Technically, a foodie is defined by Merriam-Webster Dictionary as,
": a person having an avid interest in the latest food fads"
What they left out is someone who shows that on social media way too much.
If you're a foodie or just love food, O'Hare is the airport to get stuck in.
