For the next couple of years, driving on the Kennedy Expressway in Illinois is going to be a massive hassle.

Aren't The Illinois Highways Always Under Construction?

At one point in my life, I was convinced that Illinois changed its official state flag to a road construction sign because it seems like the highways are always under construction. These aren't little projects. They usually last for years. Remember when I-90 from the Wisconsin border to O'Hare Airport was torn apart? That was a huge headache trying to get in and out of Chicago. Get ready because highway work in Chicago is starting again.

According to fox32chicago.com,

Illinois' Kennedy Expressway Construction Project

It's already hard enough to get into the Windy City without construction. This is going to be difficult to deal with. I enjoy going to Chicago for events and activities so I'm definitely not looking forward to it.

The project will last three years.

The project totaling $150 million will repair 36 bridge decks, add new signage, patch pavement, upgrade lighting, and so much more.
