Wild News Concerning The Chicago Bears Head Coach Search Has Come Out
Stop me if you've heard this before: the Chicago Bears are searching for a new head coach.
It's not like it should come as a big surprise for anyone who enjoys this football team.
I consider my fandom "long-suffering" as I have been around long enough to watch the Chicago Bears win the Super Bowl in 1986, lose in 2007, and survive the "double doink" of 2018.
I'm trying to say that I have been through the wringer. I have seen it all, and perusing the list of candidates the front office will interview doesn't make me feel like my pain will end anytime soon.
There is one thing that could help with the pain. Yesterday, I noticed a name being bandied about for a Head Coach position—not for the Chicago Bears but for the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
If you follow football, it should be no surprise that the Jets and Jags need a new Head Coach. What is a surprise is that the candidate used to play for the Bears, and the team he played for isn't considering interviewing him.
DO YOU REMEMBER #12 ON THE CHICAGO BEARS?
He had the best run of his career while playing in the orange and navy for the beloved Bears.
Josh McCown played Quarterback for the Bears for a handful of years and was replaced by an injured Jay Cutler, who did quite well.
Of course, the Bears' most popular player is always the backup Quarterback, so McCown was quite popular while Cutler wasn't.

The Bears did their Bears-y best and went with Cutler for the long run. McCown moved on, and the rest is history.
Now, McCown is back in the NFL, coaching the quarterbacks for the Minnesota Vikings under offensive guru and head coach Kevin O'Connell.
WHY JOSH MCCOWN SHOULD COACH THE CHICAGO BEARS
O'Connell and McCown have revived Sam Darnold's dormant career. As far as I have heard, McCown is being considered as a Head Coach, but doesn't seem to have an interview scheduled with the Bears.
Let's change that. Going with McCown as Head Coach in Chicago might be a gamble, but can the coaching situation get any worse? The likelihood they hit one out of the park with whatever hot coordinator or retread coach they settle with runs just as much risk as hiring McCown.
I just have a feeling McCown has got the goods to run a team and would love to see it happen in Chicago.
THE REAL REASON WHY WE NEED A GOOD FOOTBALL COACH IN CHICAGO
Most of all, could you do it for Caleb Williams? I'm sure he'd appreciate the assistance.
If anything, consider McCown for Offensive Coordinator. Take a look at some of the very worst OCs in Bears history.
