Rockford Park District has announced that there are jobs available for at-risk and minority youth this summer–thanks to a grant.

According to WTVO -

Young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 are eligible to be apart of the COVID-19 Summer Youth Employment Program.

Jobs will be at places including sportscore facilities, Nicholas Conservatory, and UW Health Sports Factory.

This grant will hire 100 young adults over the next 3 months. The Park District administrators say each person will get at least 180 hours of work experience.

The main goal is to help youth around the area gain business experience and help build up their resume for future career goals. The park district's website details -

The primary objective for youth served in the C-SYEP program is to develop essential employability skills and to earn a minimum of 180 hours of entry-level work experience.

So thanks to the Summer Youth Employment Grant, local young adults can be a part of a team this Summer. You can apply here.
